The Midsummer Mingle, Part 2

I'm back with a few more photos by Natalie Norton of the Midsummer Mingle we co-hosted. I'm still thinking about it and wishing I could go back and chat some more with all of the lovely people there.

Last time, I walked you through the grounds and around the party. This time, I'll show you the Sycamore Street Press area in a little more detail.

(Also, I have no idea who that little boy is, but he might just have to be in every single one of our photo shoots from now on.)

You walked alongside the house, through the woods to get to our cozy nook. The pathway was narrow and overhung with branches, and the other side was crowded by a steep wooded hill, so it was impossible to get a photo of the entire space. See the slanted roof in the above photo? It actually formed a really cool a-frame nook -- about 15 feet tall in the center. We filled the entire nook with overlapping sheets of our indigo gift wrap. (Or rather, Kirk got up on the ladder and did it for me while I gave directions. He's nice like that.) This little vignette was on the right side...

And on the left side, I had a little table set up with a bowl full of salt water taffy and hand lettered signage with directions for the contest we were running. Green potted plants, vintage rattan furniture, Moroccan inspired lanterns, and kilim pillows finished off the Minimal Bohemian look.

You could write your answer to "What is your favorite thing about summer?" in gold ink on small sheets of our wrapping paper.

Then you had the choice of either pinning them to this board...

... or hanging them from the clotheslines we had attached to some trees.

Then you came to a little welcome table where you could take home one of our indigo type greeting cards.

We had a couple of hand lettered quotes cut out of our gift wrap using the Cricut Explore. (DIY post coming soon!)

And as you left the Sycamore Street Press area, you walked through these shibori dyed indigo curtains (that we made -- so fun!).

I love taking the Minimal Bohemian aesthetic of Sycamore Street Press and making it into a whole environment. LOVE it. (Clean up is another story, though, ha!)
